The Hope Now Initiative

The Hope Now initiative, backed by the White House was created to provide broad government refinance and mortgage work-out assistance to homeowners struggling with their current mortgage. It is an alliance between counselors, servicers, investors, and other mortgage market participants to maximize outreach efforts to at-risk homeowners and help them stay in their homes. Part of the initiative is that if you have obtained a subprime adjustable rate loan some lenders, loan servicer and mortgage investors may allow a freeze on your rate, which might help to keep you in your home.
